“[During diarrhea class], Nati said something was ‘solid,’ and I wondered, ‘is that a poop joke.'” – Adrian
“Yeah, I was losing my shit.” – me, in what should go down as the most hilarious pun of all time.
Today we went to Diriamba for some training. After lunch, we had a session about acute diarrhea, which gave us a ton of information about how we can prevent/get/treat diarrhea. In summary: we’re all probably screwed, but we have an emergency diarrhea kit and a top-notch medical team who can help us if (when) we have problems.
Also, I hope that if I have to give a stool sample, it can at least be a solid sample, because I don’t particularly want to carry my diarrhea in a cup on the bus so it can be tested at the lab.
(Mom, apparently one of the Peace Corps training staff had zika last week, but she said it’s totally tranquilo. It’s really not a big deal unless you’re pregnant.)
I got a few mosquito bites (on my foot and upper thigh) and I didn’t notice them until I woke up, so assume I got them while I slept. I’ll try to secure my mosquito net better.
